Taj Lake
Palace or Jag Niwas was built in 1754 by Maharana
Jagat Singh II who gave his name to this elegant white
building. It is a Palace on an island in the middle
of Lake Pichola girdled by hills, was the summer residence
of the rulers of Mewar. Today this pleasure palace
is a luxury hotel like none other in the world. Staying

Shambhu Singh, known for his progressive reforms and

Chef Sameer Shah is Executive Chef at Taj Lake Palace,
Udaipur.
Shah describes himself as hands-on chef who likes
to build up a team and shape its growth. Chef Shah
believes in being able to delegate and stays believer
in creativity through team work and likes to experiment.
His success has come from his willingness to innovate
and modify dishes as needed. Delivering consistently
under pressure is something he demands from himself
and his team. When Chef Shah is not in the kitchen,
he will be at home listening to music and enjoying
time with his family.

Mewar Mahal is a flexible elegant space that can accommodate
up to 75 people in a variety of configurations. located
on level 2, Mewar Mahal features views of the Jhankar
Courtyard and it can accommodate 75 people in a theatre
style set up.
Lily Pond
An oasis of tranquility, the Lily Pond recreates the
romance and mystique of Lake Pichola in the heart
of the palace. In earlier times, the courtyard was
the scene of frolic and festivity as the ruler indulged
in "Holi," a festival of colour heralding
the onset of spring. Today, the Lily Pond courtyard
provides a fairytale setting that could kindle a modern-day
romance.
Mewar Terrace
The Mewar Terrace is a scenic and romantic venue from
which captivating views of the City Palace, Lake Pichola
and the Monsoon Palace compete for your attention.
Hours can pass undisturbed except for the arrival

Pontoon Royal Rajasthani Theme
Take the grandeur or regular pontoon dining up a notch
and dine on gadi moda bolsters with silk rugs and
shining brass candle stands. Intricate hand crafted
bajots with floral motifs complete the picture. Guests
will enjoy traditional Rajasthani meal served in golden
thalis by a personal butler who will quietly withdraw
when privacy is desired.
Gangaur And the Live Show Kitchen
Gangaur boat is an antique royal barge of the House
of Mewar. Its regal décor and vibrant splendour
were featured in the James Bond film Octopussy and
guests continue to enjoy its magnificence on a daily
basis. Eight rowers in traditional attire steer guests
around the mystical Lake Pichola while they unwind
with cocktails and enjoy fine dining delights. The
highlight of the evening is a floating show kitchen
created on a pontoon that is attached to the barge.
Our chefs create barbequed snacks, seafood and hors
d’oeuvres, which are served by personal butler.
Music and even fireworks can be arranged.
