as the classic royal aura of Woodville Palace.
Woodville has been a site for many royal weddings in
the past. The palace is filled with the memories of
the romantic weddings of the princes and princesses
of yesteryears. The first grand wedding was that of
Princess Ila Devi of Jubbal on 5th May, 1940, with Yuvraj
Harish Chandra Singh of the princely state of Jhalawar
in Rajasthan. The lawns of woodville were full of fun
and activity for over a week. However, another romantic
wedding was that of Princess Ourmila Devi of Kapurthala
and Prince Birendra Singh of Jubbal, the present owners
parents, on 4th July, 1941, in grand style in the summer
capital of British India. Woodville once again became
a scenario of another royal wedding in the year 1948
when Princess Devender Kumari of Jubbal married Yuvraj
Madaneshwar Singh Deo of Surguja state, Chattisgarh,
                          in this splendid palace.
