AyurBay beach resorts has a full
fledged ayurvedic centre which has earned the resort its
name Medicus ayurBay resorts. Founded by late lamented
Dr. K.R.Chandrababu, and headed by Dr. (Mrs.) Lalithambika
Babu who has over 25 years of experience, the centre is
renowned for its unique expertise in ayurveda. Drawing
from the ancient scriptures which describe Ayurveda, dedicated
physicians of repute have been practicing pure ayurveda
for the past quarter century at ayurBay. From humble beginnings
in 1980, ayurBay has grown into a 16 room, 2 apartment
facility – a proof to the dedication of all involved.
Even after your stay at ayurBay you can continue to have
reviews and consultations with our doctors by mail and
email. The resort also sends necessary medications to
places around the globe.
AyurBay
has been accredited with Green Leaf, the highest recognition
for ayurvedic centres by the Department of Tourism, Government
of Kerala.

Apart
from standard amenities like running hot/cold water, phone,
forex, credit card, laundry etc , the resort takes pride
in the fact that it has a private lifeguard for the safety
of our guests. Ayurvedic treatments are dispensed in the
supervision of experts in particular amenities for specialized
treatments. Nutritionally balanced ayurvedic vegetarian
food is served according to the dietician’s directions.
Located at Nellikunnu beach, 4 kms south of Kovalam en route
to Poovar, the resort has a perfect isolated beach to enjoy
the sea breeze/ sea bathing.

Things to do

While at ayurBay you can enjoy a gamut of activities. Apart
from the rejuvenation therapies of ayurveda, getting mesmerized
by the beauty in Nature, practicing yoga, lazing about on
the beach and bathing in sea within the precincts of the resort,
you can enjoy a wholesome holiday across Kerala. You may trek
in the hills, visit the archaelogical sites and monuments
of yore, take a trip to the Museum complex, enjoy aquatic
sports, view the local fisherfolk at work, go shopping at
the local markets or go to main city. If interested in local
art and culture , you can enjoy the cultural shows at Veli.

Shiro
Dhara Pouring of Medicated
oil over the forehead is called Shirodhara. This is highly
beneficial in Head ache, mental tension, Insomnia, stress
and Disorders of central nervous system, etc. Dhara to
the body is pouring of medicated oil on the body and it
is beneficial for many neuromuscular disorders and Rheumatism
and general debility.
Pizhichil Here lukewarm oil is poured in the body
by squeezing cotton cloth soaked in the oil. This is highly
effective for Spondylosis, Hemiplegia and Arthritis. It
is immensely rejuvenative..
Sirovasthi Medicated oil is poured over a leather
cap kept on the head. This is effective for headache,
hair falling, burning sensation and other diseases of
ear, nose and throat.
Kizhi The massage done with medicinal leaves or
powdered medicines kept in a cloth bag. This is useful
in many Musculo-Skeletal disoders, degenerative conditions
and neurological problems.It improves circulation and
restores energy and vigour.s
