In
950 The Chauhans of Ajme drove out hte Gurjar Pratihars
to open a new chapter in the history of Kuchaman Fort.in
the following centuries the Gaurs won and controlled the
fort until they surrendered it to the might of the Rathores.
Being Suryavanshi Kshatriyas who trace their lineage back
to Lord Rama,teh hero of the epic Ramayana,the Rathores
brought to the fort their long and 470 A.D. with Nayal
Pals conquest of Kanauj,near modern Kanpur in U.P. For
seven long centuries,Kanauj remained the Rathore capital
until 1193 A.D.,when Nayal Pals descendent lost Kanauj
and Rao-Siaji moved west to the golden sands of the Thar
Desert. |
Here
the Rathores flourished and in 1391, Rao Chunda established
Mandore as the neew Rathore capitalJust as he ousted the Pratiharas
from Mandore,so did his great grandson move further into the
deserts,winninng the Kuchaman Fort,and adding one more trophy
to the Rathore conquests.

thus began the true era of Kuchaman glory,around 1400
A.D. under the strewardship of the Rathores.Thus it is
