Gajner Palace is an incomparable "Jewel in the Thar Desert" built on the embankment of a lake by His Late Highness Maharaja Ganga Singhji of Bikaner. During winter even now, this palace with its beautiful lake and surrounded wooded areas become the home of different species of migratory birds, most renowned amongst them being the Imperial Sand Grouse. Endangered Antelopes like Black Bucks, Nilgais, Chinkaras and other animals like the Wild Boar roam freely in this area which is now a preserved sanctuary. The Gajner Palace is beautifully architectured and is made of Red Sandstone. One can appreciate the craftsmanship of the intricate carvings on red sandstone. There are 24 well appointed rooms open to the travelers. Authentic game recipes have been adapted to create "Shikari" dishes out of chicken and mutton. Splendid royal Barbecues, Buffets and entertainment programs have been arranged to match the ambience of yore. One can experience the true romance of the desert in the comfort of Gajner Palace.

Climate - The peak season in Gajner runs through autumn, winter and spring in the months of October - March. The temperature is approximately 3ºC - 22ºC, and the rainfall is approx. 25 cms. During this period, you would require woolens or heavy cottons .
